Fence posts are most commonly 4x4 meaning 4 inches by 4 inches or 6x6 and even 5x5. The choice is up to you but knowing that the average 4x4 fence post is going to last 10-15 years while a 6x6 post will last upwards of over 25 years. So quality and long lasting.

What it is like to work with Elgin Fence and Deck?
Below is a simple illustration covering our process.
The Building Process
If you think about it, the entire process is not complicated but we know that this might be new to you. As such, we have laid it out in the follow 4 steps to help you get an idea of how the entire process is from start to finish.
Get a Site Survey
One of the firs steps in our working relationship is for me to come to your place and map/measure out your site. That could be for a new fence or deck layout. Once we have that I can give you an accurate quote.
Solidify a Quote
After I have come to your place and mapped out everything, I will create a custom quote for you based on your requests and preferences that we discussed in the previous step.
Start the Build
This is where the rubber hits the road so to speak. Once I have the materials ordered, we will come and start your project based on the layout and specifications we have both agreed to in the quote.
Enjoy your new Deck or Fence
Once we have completed everything that we have agreed to on the invoice, the only thing left is for you to enjoy your new fence or dec. If you have an additions to add after, we will always address that next.

Why should we hire you to build our Fence?
Well, do you want to? You have every right to choose any company to build your project, our clients are looking for a professional trust-worthy builder who appreciates great communication and a quality finished product. If that is what you are looking for then the answer is Yes, you should.
How long does it typically take from quote to done deal?
There is no one perfect answer for this but weather, material ordering, you, the site and a few other factors come into the mix for timing. I promise to be professional and time efficient so you get your project completed without compromising quality for speed.
What happens if something breaks or shifts after your done?
This is a tough question as I am not in the warranty business BUT all of my projects are completed with a logical expected life time and I will always outline how long it should last. Although, if something breaks that was my responsibility, I have and will fix it but if it is from your negligence then I can't help you there.
Why are the prices in your quote lower than your competition?
On average my pricing is lower than some of my competitors and that simply comes from properly pricing out my projects and understanding that I need to make a living but not exorbitantly at the clients expense. I pride myself on being fair and reasonable.
Can I trust that you will do a good job on my property?
Well, you probably don't know me aside from my website or what your friends have said about me. So, my testimonials are very important to my credibility as well as a voice for the past clients and projects. I treat all properties as if they were my own if that helps.
HOw long have you been installing fences and decks?
That is a great question and I have been in this business for over 6 years and I have installed over 34,000 ft of fences, used over 400,000 screws and dug over 5000 holes. I have been blessed with great clients that keep on referring me over and over.
